Obituary of Anton "Tony" Arnoldus Van Dongen

VAN DONGEN: Unexpectedly, at his residence, on Thursday, April 14, 2016, Anton “Tony” Arnoldus Van Dongen, of RR 3, Parkhill, one month shy of his 80th birthday. Beloved husband of Mary Jean “MJ” (Ross) Van Dongen. Loved father and father-in-law of Teri (Dwight) Isaac of Utah, Sean Van Dongen of Toronto, Ryan Gunning of Grand Bend, Candice Gunning (Mark Gagnon) of Woodstock. Forever missed by his grandchildren Ariel (Ryan) Pritchett, Cole Isaac and Nathan Gagnon. Dear brother-in-law of Elizabeth Van Dongen of Lambeth, Ada Van Dongen of Windsor, Emilia Van Dongen of Rodney, Norma and Mark McLean of Sarnia, Fielding and Faye Ross of Alvinston, John and Nancy Ross of Sarnia. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Tony will be greatly missed by his canine companion Yankee. Predeceased by his parents Adrian (1976) and Wilhelmina (1970) (Brouwers) Van Dongen, brothers Adriaan (2010), Cornelis “Case” (2009) and Peter (2002). Visitation will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend, on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 1:30 p.m., with A Prayer Service commencing at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Father Tony Laforet Officiating. Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. For many years, Tony ran a Dairy Farm on the Bayfield Road, west of Clinton, Ontario. Most recently, Tony and MJ owned and operated Pizza Delight in Grand Bend. Arrangements entrusted to T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations, payable by cheque, to the Grand Bend and Area Medical Centre or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
