Obituary of BARRY ALBERT STRONG

STRONG:  Peacefully at home, with his family at his side, on Friday, November 24, 2017, Barry Albert Strong of Grand Bend, formerly of Windsor, age 84.  Beloved husband of Sharon Anne Marie (Schiller) Strong of 56 years.  Cherished father and father-in-law of Kelly (Mike) of Grand Bend, Colleen (John) of Grand Bend, Catherine of Toronto,  the late Maureen (2007) (John and Kathye) of Connecticut, Christina (Bill) of Mississauga, Ray (Sherri) of Newmarket, Carolyn (Achille) of Cambridge, Mary-Anne (Richard) of London, the late John (2004) and Tom (Gillian) of Toronto.  Treasured grandfather of Kurtis, Nicholas, Blake, Lukas, Connor, Christopher, Corey, Fana, Cecilia, Georgia, Spencer, Alexis, Lucca, Matteo, Roman and Jasper.  Barry will be sadly missed by his mother-in-law Rita (McMahon) Schiller.  Dear brother-in-law of Jim (Joanne) Schiller, Mike (Robin) Schiller, Tom (Debbie) Schiller, Bill (Mary) Schiller, Pat (Theresa) Schiller and Josephine Strong.  Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families.  Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Cecilia (Gignac) Strong, brother Joseph Strong and father-in-law, Ray Schiller.  Barry was a loving husband, father and grandfather and strongly dedicated to his family.  He was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, strong character, humour and love of Bridge.  Barry’s career spanned for over 45 years as a Registered Dental Technician and later a Denturist in Windsor, Tilbury and Leamington. He was also the original owner of Dutch Boy Ice Cream Shop, Dutch Girl Gift Shop and the Wicker Shop in Grand Bend.   Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Dashwood Main Street, Dashwood, with visitation on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, 337 Ontario Street South, Grand Bend on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 11 a.m.  The Rev. Fr. Tony Laforet Celebrant.  Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery, 5005 Howard Ave., Windsor on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 12 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial masses would be appreciated and donations (payable by cheque) to Canadian Food for Children.
