Obituary of N. Raymond Sloman
SLOMAN/MIZZI: Peacefully, at London Health Sciences Centre – Victoria Hospital, on Saturday, October 22, 2016, N. Raymond “Ray” Sloman, of RR 2, Grand Bend, age 74. Beloved husband of Josephine “Joyce” Carman (Mizzi) Sloman. Loved father and father-in-law of Craig Sloman and Dawn of Huron Park. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Joe and Janis Sloman and Lawrence and Karen Mizzi all of London. Remembered by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Carmelo and Rosemary Mizzi of London, godsons Tyson and Joshua Mizzi and his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Norton Joseph and Margaret (Warden) Sloman, sister Margaret Rose Sloman. At Ray’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John’s-by-the-Lake Anglican Church, Grand Bend, on Friday, November 4, 2016 at 1 p.m., followed by a reception at the Oakwood Resort, Terrace Room, Grand Bend from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment Woodland Cemetery, London, at a later date. Ray was the former owner of Sloman Draperies in London, he was also a founding member of the Grand Bend Cruising Club and Past Commander of the London Power Squadron. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the Parkinson’s Society or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
