VANDER BURGT: Suddenly, as the result of a car accident, on Saturday, November 19, 2016, John Peter Vander Burgt, of RR 1, Dashwood, age 61. Beloved husband and best friend of Harriet Maria (Vanos) Vander Burgt. Loved father and father-in-law of Natalie Vander Burgt and her husband Pete Gellatly of Burlington, Nick and Megan Vander Burgt of RR 1, Dashwood, Josh Vander Burgt of RR 1, Dashwood and girlfriend Lacey Campbell. Cherished Papa of Sullivan “Sully” and Tate. Forever loved son of the late Henricus “Henry” Vander Burgt (1999) and Hendrika “Riet” (Rutten) (Vander Burgt) Willert and her husband Fred of Grand Bend. Fondly remembered by his parents-in-law the late Peter (2016) and Nellie (Roks) Vanos of Delaware. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Peter and Cindy Vander Burgt, Leo and Heather Vander Burgt, Ed and Gloria Vander Burgt, Joanne and Gary Gollub, Henry Vander Burgt Jr. and Alicia Wigle, John and Mary Vanos, Joyce and John Feher, Audrey Wong, Teresa and Ted Hopkinson, James and Maria Vanos. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families, and many business associates. John was the current chairman of Hay Communications Co-operative Limited Board of Directors, he worked with Parkhill Source Drinking Water Protection, Ontario Pork Producers, Ontario Vegetable Growers. He was a shareholder of A & L Labs and founder of Bluewater Crop Care and Consulting. John was involved with the Grand Bend Soccer Association and a former member of the Bluewater Tug of War Team. His friends and family will remember him as a strong willed, honest, generous and above all selfless man. His hard work and kindness will be missed. The world needs more men like John Vander Burgt and will mourn his loss. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with Visitation on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., CWL prayers at 4:15 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 73334 Bluewater Hwy., St. Joseph’s, on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Peter Keller Celebrant. Interment St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to South Huron Hospital Foundation – Jessica’ House or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
