Obituary of Bernie Anthony Denomme

DENOMME: Peacefully, with the love of his family surrounding him, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, Bernard “Bernie” Anthony Denomme, of Exeter, age 74.  Devoted husband of more than 55 years to Annette Madeline (Rau) Denomme.  Loved father and father-in-law of Michael and Tammy Denomme of London, Kevin and Brenda Denomme of Kitchener, Dan and Karen Denomme of Exeter.  Cherished Grandpa/Papa Bernie of Emily, Melanie, Adam, Aaron, Erik and friend Chelsea Darling, Darrin, Marc and friend Stephanie Forman, Ashley and great-grandpa “Papa Bernie” of Wyatt.  Dear brother and brother-in-law of Evelyn and Pat Regier, Beattie and Mike Rau, Elaine and George Keller, Larry and Deb Denomme, Judy and Gerard Grenier, Doris Rau,  John Paul and Barb Rau, Gerard Rau, Sister Rose Marie Rau (O.S.U.), Clarence Rau, Maurice and Ellen Rau, Dennis and Barb Rau,  Jo-Ann Sheardown.  Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families.  Bernie touched so many lives, giving freely of his time and numerous talents.  He was most happy when helping others.  Bernie was a board member on the Morningside and Lakeside Resort Casitas in Arizona where he cherished his winters with so many loving friends.    Predeceased by his parents Anthony Marcel and Adeline Marie (Overholt) Denomme, brothers-in-law Louis Rau and Wayne Sheardown, sister-in-law Delores Rau, father-in-law and mother-in-law Charles R. and Madeline V. (Bedard) Rau. At Bernie’s request, cremation has taken place.  A Visitation will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  A Memorial Mass will be held at Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church, Exeter on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.  The Rev. Fr. Len Desjardins Celebrant.  Interment St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Joseph’s, reception to follow at the St. Peter’s Parish Hall. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to South Huron Hospital Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
