Obituary of Alastair "Al" Stewart Davidson

DAVIDSON:  Alastair “Al” Stewart, age 69 of Grand Bend, formerly of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones.  Al was a member of the Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) for over 30 years as well as time spent as the President of the Cambridge Minor Hockey Association.  Al was an avid sports fan, with his passions being Hockey, Football, Golf and NASCAR.  Al is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Carol Anne (nee Nash) Davidson, son Donald, daughter-in-law Darlene and grandson Jake.  His sister  Mairi (Lorne), brother Ian, sister-in-law Netty, brother-in-law Don, sister-in-law Sandy (Ed) and his many, many loved nieces, nephews and their families.  Al is predeceased by his father Archibald, mother Eileen (nee Wright), sister Pam, brother Glen, mother-in-law Jessie and father-in-law Ken.  At Al’s request, cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Al’s Life will be held at the Waterloo Police Association and Recreation Centre, 1128 Rife Road and Cambridge, North Dumfries, on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m.  Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.  Al will be missed by his many loved ones and friends.  Many thanks go out to St. Elizabeth’s Health Care for your love and kindness during Al’s illness; Bless you Cassie and Heather.  In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
