Obituary of James Wesley Lawrence

LAWRENCE: Passed away peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Ontario, Saturday, April 3, 2010, James “Jimmy” Wesley Lawrence of Grand Bend, formerly of Halifax, age 90. Beloved husband of Jessie (Collier) Lawrence. Loved father of Jim Lawrence (Barbara Green) of Ottawa, Kathy Young (Jim) of Grand Bend and Peter Lawrence of Halifax. Loving grandpa of Kelly Collison (Chris), Kim Young and Andrew Lawrence. Great-grandpa of Alex and Ryan Collison. Dear brother-in-law of Joan Hendry of England. Remembered by many friends, nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, Russell and Elizabeth (Stacey) Lawrence of Halifax and by his 11 brothers and sisters. Jimmy was the last surviving member of his family. He served with the Royal Canadian Engineers during WWII and later was a long-time employee of the Department of National Defence at the HMS Dockyard in Halifax. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. No. 25 in Halifax. A family service will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, Monday, April 5, 2010, at 2 p.m. followed by cremation. The Rev. Gary Alcock officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
