Bruce and Family, As Beach O' Pines residents, we had the pleasure of chatting with Doris from time to time as we were out walking. My 2 older sisters were also Farmerettes so we had plenty to talk about. A wonderful woman, warm, caring of others and interesting with a dash of humour always thrown in. She led a life well lived and will be missed by so many of her huge family and friends. Our sincere condolences. John & Sandy Dixon

I had the fortune and pleasure of meeting Dolores through Shannon 12 years ago. In the five years I was in her orbit, she was always the kindest, most welcoming person—with just the right dash of spunk. A queen among many. Sending love and appreciation to the entire Murray/Fielding family. ❤️

Doris, Vicki’s Mom, who for all my years here, always greeted me with a warm smile. Even though our interactions were not often she made me feel known, not a stranger. During our conversations I learned she was an adventurer, an intellect, and had a fine sense of humour! As well, I now know, an artist! Doris was a fine lady and I will miss seeing her, in her chair, overlooking the lake on those beautiful summer days! Rest in peace Mrs. Fielding and sincere condolences to the family. We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Doris Fielding and wish to express our heartfelt condolences to her family. It was a privilege to be part of the cherished family cottage experience in Grand Bend, alongside Dr. Fielding and Doris. Together, we helped establish a lasting cottage tradition—one of the first cottages we built in the area over 40 years ago. Over the years, we were fortunate to see Doris and her family from time to time as they returned to the cottage and as some made Grand Bend their home. Doris may be gone, but her warmth and the memories created at the cottage will live on. May you continue to find comfort in those treasured moments. With sympathy, Randall S. The topic of Farmerettes always assured me of a smile from Doris. She participated, along with 19 other Farmerettes, in our recently completed documentary titled "WE LEND A HAND: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes". Recently we were able to have a private screening of the documentary in her room at Jessica's House. Doris and her family had many smiles as she appeared on the screen with her lifelong friend Denise "Denny" Powell. I was able to pause the documentary when she was featured on the screen telling about her service and hitchhiking in the Niagara area. She said she learned you had to "follow through " with the work instructions. She was a member of "The Greatest Generation" and she did indeed answer the call to "Lend A Hand".
