Beloved husband of 60 years to Mary Jean (Hallman) Gill. Loved father and father-in-law of Mary & John Huenemoerder of Mitchell, Steven & Trish Gill of Dashwood and John Gill & Katherine Boersma of Strathroy. Cherished grandpa of Jaimie Huenemoerder, Erin & Brandon Gorse, Scott & Chelsea Huenemoerder, Hilary Gill & fiancé Kyle Finlay, Julia Gill & partner Anna Payne and Alexandra & Jason Roberts. Treasured great-grandpa of Brooklynn, Aubrey, Nicholas, Alex, Stella, Norah, Evangeline and Dean. Dear brother-in-law of Marty McRea and John & Marg Hallman. Remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by brother William "Bill" Gill and his wife Betty, sister Margaret Zavitz and her husband Clayton and parents Hector and Ethel (Schatz) Gill. Resting at T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, where the funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 11 a.m., with visitation 1 hour prior to the service time. Interment Pinehill Cemetery, Thedford. Richard worked at General Motors painting locomotives for over 23 years, from 1984 to 2007 when he retired.
