VANDERHOEK:  Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Marien “Hook” Vanderhoek of Zurich, age 90.  Beloved husband of Hilda (Penner) Vanderhoek.  Loved father and father-in-law of Rob Vanderhoek of London, Rick and Karen Vanderhoek of London, Wendy Vanderhoek of Halifax, Marty and Brenda Vanderhoek of Toronto.  Cherished Grandpa of Christina Vanderhoek, Charlie and Jaime Vanderhoek, Charlotte Vanderhoek, Savannah Vanderhoek, Justin Vanderhoek and Nathan Vanderhoek.  Treasured Great-Grandpa of Nathan, Theo, Leni and Andrew Vanderhoek.  Dear brother-in-law of Tanny Vanderhoek, Mildred Penner, Luanna and Cornie Thiessen, Gladwin and Margaret Penner, Cliff Klassen, John and Datha Penner, Fred and Rachel Penner, Dave and Peggy Penner, Bert and Roslyn Penner, Norman and Florine Penner. Remembered by his nieces and nephews Tony, Ron, Gerda, Hans, Willem and Ton in Canada and Holland and the many Penner families and his cousins in Holland.  Predeceased by his parents Anton and Willemina (Streefland) Vanderhoek, brothers Piet and Annie Vanderhoek, Gerry Vanderhoek, sister Zoetje and Piet DeGraaf, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Gordon Penner, Doreen and Emery Wilson, Bertha Klassen and Louise Penner, nieces Wilma and Marian.  Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood with visitation on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 5 p.m.  to 7 p.m., where the Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at 11 a.m.  Mr. Bob Heywood Officiant.  Cremation to follow and interment at a later date in the Bluewater Bronson Line Cemetery, Zurich.  In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to Jessica’s House Residential Hospice, Exeter, the South Huron Hospital Foundation, Exeter or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
