Obituary of Phyllis Anna Hanlon
HANLON, Phyllis Anna (nee Gill): It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Phyllis Anna (Glenn) Hanlon, age 92, after a brief illness at the Delta Hospital in Delta, British Columbia, Friday, October 22, 2010. Beloved wife of the late Roy William Hanlon (1989) and her first husband the late William “Bill” Dickson Glenn (1966). Sadly missed by her daughter Patti and son-in-law Gord Thorne of Delta, BC and her son the late Donald Thomas Glenn (1996). Loving grandmother of Heather (Marie) Glenn and her partner Ronan Clohissey, John (Warren) Glenn, Shaun Michael Stevens and his wife Sarah Jane (nee Gaskell) Stevens. Phyllis is also survived by two beautiful great-grandchildren by Shaun and Sarah, Cole Michael Stevens and Brooke Ashley Stevens. Phyllis grew up and spent all of her working life in Grand Bend, Ontario. She is the dear sister of Helen West of Grand Bend and predeceased by sisters Ella Patterson, Edna Noonan, Irene Gill, Joan Leigh and brothers Hector, Alden, Stanley, William (Billy) Gill and her parents Harmon and Eva (Gravelle) Gill. Phyllis’s greatest joys were her vacations in Florida and British Columbia and watching her grandchildren grow and become the successful adults they are today. Her great wit and positive outlook will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, Tuesday, November 16, 2010 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. followed by interment service at Grand Bend Cemetery with Tracey Whitson-Bahro officiating.
