Obituary of WILLIAM LEONARD BALLANTYNE
BALLANTYNE: Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Sunday, March 13, 2016, William Leonard “Len” Ballantyne, of Grand Cove Estates, Grand Bend, formerly of Mississauga, age 92. Beloved husband of the late Jeanne (Van Lommen) Ballantyne, and much loved companion of Paulina (Kilbertus) Clark. Loved father of Noella Ballantyne of Mississauga. Loving grandfather of Kerry Briceland and Terry Briceland. Treasured by Paulina’s children Lianne Clark and Randy Hall of Halifax, Nancy Clark and Doug Bennet of Toronto, Ronald and Michelle Clark of Newmarket and his extended grandchildren Nathan Bennet, Eliza Bennet, Raymond Clark, Brianna Clark and Mackenzie Clark. Fondly remembered by his great-nephew David and Sharon Ballantyne and many other nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents William and Nellie (Conroy) Ballantyne, brothers Theodore Ballantyne and Harold Ballantyne, sisters Helen Fraser and Audrey Clarkin. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with Visitation on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 from 7 to 9 p.m., where the Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Fr. Tony Laforet Officiating. Interment Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 1810, Albion Rd., Etobicoke on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. Len served during World War II with the Queens Own Rifles as a dispatcher and jeep driver. To honour Len’s great love of animals, If desired, memorial donations, payable by cheque to the Toronto District Humane Society would be appreciated by the family.
