Obituary of Winnie Gill

GILL:  On Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in her 98th year, Winnifred Lorene (Tiedeman) Gill passed peacefully at peopleCare Oakcrossing Long Term Care Home, London. Born June 4, 1923 to Gertrude Devine (1991) and Bruce Tiedeman (1980), Winnie was one of five siblings (Carrie, Maurice, Charles and Hank). Winnie was predeceased by her beloved husband Harry Alden Gill (1984), her son Wayne Kurt Zander (2011) and daughter-in-law Judith Lee Zander (2000). She will be remembered by daughter-in-law Freda Zander as well as many nieces and nephews. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren Jeffrey Zander (Laurie), Tracey Pace (Joseph), Lisa Nixon (Derek) and Nicole Zander (Robert Hurren) as well as her great-grandchildren Justin Zander (Melissa), Benjamin Zander (Jasmin), Jacob Pace (Stephanie), Emma-Leigh Pace (Victoria), Wilson, Aric and Maxwell Nixon, Samantha and Ethan Hurren.  She was pleased to know that the family had grown to include her great-great-granddaughters Addison and Bridget Pace. Winnie was a long-time employee of Dashwood Industries where she made many friends. She enjoyed caring for her close-knit family, playing cards, fishing, life in Grand Bend and her feline friends.  The family extends gratitude and thanks to peopleCare for the years of compassionate and excellent care. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family funeral will take place at the Grand Bend Cemetery.  Donations (payable directly) to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society or Alzheimer Society of London & Middlesex would be appreciated.
