Obituary of Jacquie Prendergast
PRENDERGAST: Peacefully, at Chartwell Long Term Care, Parkhill, on Friday, January 29, 2021, Jacqueline “Jacquie” Irène (Veillette) Prendergast, of Grand Bend, in her 91st year. Devoted mother of Stephen (Ann) of London, and Paul (Jennifer) of Grand Bend. Loving grandmother of Leah, Faith and Chloe. Predeceased by husband Tom (1929 – 2012) and son Michael (1964-1981), her parents Henri and Evélina (Allard) Veillette, siblings Paul-Émile, Anita, Fernand, Robert, Camile, Marc, Liliane Houle and Pauline Champigny and Tom’s siblings Mary Boyd, Rita Mockler, Kay Dewan, Rose, Frank, Joe, Mildred Mackle, Pat, Helen Doran, and Dan. Survived by her sisters-in-law Audrey Prendergast and Mary Lou Gleason. Remembered by her many nieces, nephews and their families from both Ontario and Québec. Jacquie lived a vibrant life. She was known for her fierce, competitive nature and love of tennis, a sport through which she made many lifelong friends. At Jacquie’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Mount Carmel at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.
