SILVER: After a 12 year battle with COPD and cancer in 2014, Arthur “Art” S. Silver of Grand Bend, formerly of Parkhill, age 85, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia, on Monday, June 14, 2021. Beloved husband of Laura Gayle (Cox) Silver for over 43 years. Dear father and father-in-law of Gail (Brian) White, Daniel Silver (Noreen Skinner) all of Fort McMurray, AB and Laura Bullock (Jeff Otterbein) of Strathroy. Cherished Papa of Whitney (Dustin), Mitchell (Victoria), Madison White, Racheal, Morgan, Brandon Silver, Brad (Tonya) Bullock, Bronson (Liz) Bullock, Greg Aveling and Scott Aveling and chosen granddaughter Holly. Treasured great-papa of Jace White, Emmerson Coppens, Tatum White, Isla White, Gunner White, Keegan Bullock and Oliver Silver. Survived by his siblings and in-laws Thelma (Jack) Hudson, Carol Silver, Barbara (John) Kennedy, Lyle (Lois) Cox, Patricia (John) Jukema, Harold (Eva) Cox, Sharon Lockett, Alice (Barry) Joyce, Jean Gildea, Joan (Wayne) Silver, Karen Ovens. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents George Arthur and Lillian (Harris) Silver, brothers David Silver, Murray Silver, sister Dorothy Silver, parents-in-law Roy and Roseabelle (Wightman) Cox, siblings-in-laws Ron Cox, Ivan Cox, Donna Hart and John Hollingsworth and his beloved schnauzer Meiko (March 2019). A Private Funeral Service will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood on Thursday, June 17, 2021. Interment Parkhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to Palliative Care at St. Joseph’s Hospice Sarnia or VON Sarnia will be gratefully acknowledged. The Family would like to extend a special Thanks to Dr. Thorpe, Dr. Kim (Palliative Care), VON Nurse Danica Wilson, PSWs Laurie, Tracy, Debbie, Connie and CJ. Art and Maryon Cobleigh our Park Angels, Lyle and Lois Cox, Nancy Kuych, neighbour Leslie Duvar and many friends who called and ran errands, Laura Bullock for putting so much time helping us and being there for Art and for the wonderful kindness shown to us during Art’s illness. Art wanted to be home and he was until the last 6 days prior to taking this journey.
