Obituary of James Roy William Hider

HIDER, Major James Roy William, CD of London, formerly of Grand Bend. Peacefully at Parkwood Hospital, London, on Monday, the 3rd of October, 2011, in his 94th year. Predeceased by first wife, Catherine (Flanagan) Hider, survived by his loving wife Ann (Nother) Hider, loving father of Mike Hider and Sylvie, Carol and Jerry Norman, Maureen and Mike Korhonen and Carolyn, predeceased by son Peter Hider, loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren and stepfather to Anthony McGucken and Ann Margaret and Matt Rizzo. Predeceased by his sister Irene Burnside, parents Roy and Dorothy (Elliston) Hider. Roy served 34 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, enlisted in 1934 and retired in 1968 having served in the Second World War and also in the Korean War. The family would like to thank the staff of 4B and 3Essex of Parkwood Hospital and Rev. Darrell Shaule for their compassionate care. CELEBRATION OF LIFE to be held in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at Parkwood Hospital, 801 Commissioners Rd. East, Western Counties Wing, (parking lot #3) on Thursday, the 6th of October, 2011 at 11 am with Rev. Darrell Shaule. Visitation at 10 am. Reception to follow at Parkwood.
