Obituary of Gerard D'Arcy Molloy
MOLLOY: Peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Thursday, November 22, 2012, Gerard D’Arcy Molloy, of Huron Woods, Grand Bend, formerly of London, age 77. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife and best friend of 55 years Mary Helen (Mellon) Molloy. Loved father and father-in-law of Thomas Molloy and Donna, Lori-Ann and Rino Civitarese, Susan Molloy and Terry Wilson. Loving grandpa of Adam, Sean, Caitlin, Alexandra, Meaghan, Sarah, Gillian, Lindsay, Spencer, Melissa, Christopher, Sydney and Kyle. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Patrick “Rick” and Sherrill Molloy of London, Rosemary and Al Sobanski of Mississauga, Rosemary and Paul Slater of London, Sister Paulette Mellon and Blanche Mellon both of Windsor, Noreen Mellon of Toronto and Donna Mellon of London. Remembered by his nieces, nephews, their families and many other relatives and friends. D’Arcy married his high school sweetheart and was a devoted husband and father who was well liked by all who met him. He had a keen business sense and a special way with people, and he made many friends throughout his career as a Health and Safety Inspector with the Government of Ontario. He raised his family in London and moved to Grand Bend in 1996, where he later retired. He was a member of the Grand Bend Probus Club for 15 years, enjoyed travelling, reading, and cheering on his favourite hockey and football teams. He will be remembered for his kind nature and polite manner. The world shall be less without him. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Rose (Insell) Molloy, brothers-in-law Charles Mellon, Donald Mellon, Father Pat Mellon and sister-in-law Joan Mellon. Special thanks to Dr. Lam and the staff at South Huron Hospital for their compassionate care. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Monday, 2 to 4 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Father Greg Blonde Celebrant. Cremation to follow with Interment at Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend at a later date.
