Obituary of Stanley Wayne Lovie

LOVIE: Suddenly and unexpectedly, at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, Stanley “Stan” Wayne Lovie of RR 3 Parkhill, age 69. Beloved husband of Cassie Anne (DesJardine) Lovie. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ken and Barb Lovie of Exeter, Larry and Donna Lovie of RR 3, Parkhill, Bob and Nancy-Rae Lovie of RR 2, Grand Bend, Randy and Susan Lovie of RR 2, Zurich, Jo-Anne Lovie of Brantford, Catherine Lovie of Granton, Leo and Susan DesJardine of Sarnia. Stan will be remembered by his many nieces, nephews, their families and his best friend Sami. Predeceased by his parents Carman (2009) and Verna (Bullock) Lovie (2011), brother James “Jim” Lovie (2010). Stan farmed throughout his lifetime, he was a long time employee of Grand Bend P.U.C. and was an active member on the Grand Bend Volunteer Fire Department for the last 43 years, serving as Chief and currently as Deputy Chief. He was a player with the Dashwood Tigers O.B.A. Champions during the 1960’ and early 70’s, and presently a member of the Dashwood Men’s Club. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with a Fireman’s walkthrough being held at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 498, Grand Bend on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11 a.m. Mr. Bob Heywood Officiating. Interment Grand Bend United Church Cemetery, Grand Bend. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
