MARTENE: Suddenly, as a result of a farm accident, on Monday, October 1, 2001, Anthony “Tony” Adam Martene of R. R. #2, Crediton, in his 78th. year. Beloved husband of Shirley Grace (Dixon) Martene. Loved father of John Martene and his fiancé Dawn Fawcett of R. R. #2, Ailsa Craig, Clare and Brenda Martene of Crediton, Earl and Julia Martene of R. R. #2, Crediton. Loving grandpa of Elisha, Matthew, Karen, Greg, Jason, Brian and Devon. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Mildred and Elvin Bearss of Port Colborne, Edna Swain of London, Joan McFadden and her husband Don of Chesley, Florence Martine of Dashwood, Bill and Marilyn Dixon of R. R. #2, Lucan, Hiram and Labelle Dixon of Claresholm, Alberta, Art and Pauline Miller of Zurich, Mary and Jack Hogan of R. R. #2, Dashwood. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law Martha and Eben Weigand, Carrie and Homer Russell, Jim Orr and Alan Swain, brothers Joseph Martini and Charles Martine and infant grandson Michael. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Thursday afternoon and evening. The Funeral Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood, on Friday, October 5, 2001 at 11 a. m. The Rev. John E. Trembulak III officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Cancer Society or Zion Lutheran Church would be appreciated. A tree will be planted by the family in memory of Tony.
