DIXON: Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket, Ontario on Wednesday, December 5, 2001 Samuel Stewart Dixon of Southcott Pines, Grand Bend, Ontario, formerly of Scarborough and New Westminster, BC., in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Mary Pearl (Smith) Dixon. Loved father and father-in-law of Bruce and Nancy Dixon of Newmarket, Bill Dixon of Barrie, Mark and Karen Dixon of Sarnia. Loving grandpa of Jenny, Mark; Julia, Matthew, Nathan, Lily; Andrea, Peter, Catherine and great-grandpa of Aliyah. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Henry and Beverly Dixon of New Westminster, BC. Loved by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Bruce and Bertha (Smith) Dixon also of New Westminster, BC. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, Ontario (519-237-3532) with visitation Friday evening 7:30 to 9 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Bend Branch No. 498 will hold a service at the Funeral Home Friday at 7 p.m. Parish Prayers at 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend on Saturday, December 8, 2001 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father Paul J. Beck Celebrant. Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. If desired, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or charity of choice would be appreciated. Sam was former editor of Jobber News, President of Wadham Publications, now a division of Southam Communications, served during WWII with the R.C.A.F. Squadron #436 Vancouver and was a Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church.
