HOFFMAN: Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, T. Harry Hoffman of Dashwood, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of E. Maud (Bolton) Hoffman. Loved father of Mary Jane and Jack Taylor of Exeter, Bob Hoffman of R. R. #3, Dashwood and Jill McGrotty, Bill and Joan Hoffman of R. R. #2, Dashwood, Jim and Donna Hoffman of Dashwood. Loving grandfather of Deb and Ian Wilkie, Jeff Taylor, Rob Hoffman and Darlene, Kimberly and Todd LaPorte, Tim Hoffman and Larissa, Ted Hoffman and Kristy, Jeff and Bobbi Hoffman, Randy and Diane Hoffman, Terry and Jen Hoffman, Kelly Hoffman and Geoff, Jamie Hoffman and Brent Hoffman. Also loved by his extended grandchildren, John and Karen Cassidy, Bill Cassidy, Chad and Lisa Willemsen, Honey Willemsen and Greg. Loved by his many great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Alice Tieman of Exeter Villa, and special family friend of Donna and Glen Thiel. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his sisters, Myrta Evans (1985), Gertrude McCrae (1994), parents Henry and Margaret (Stacey) Hoffman. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, which he established in 1941, with visitation commencing Wednesday evening at 7 P.M.; Thursday afternoon and evening. Funeral Service will be held at Calvary United Church, Dashwood, on Friday, February 8, 2002 at 2 P.M. Mrs. Irene Richardson and The Rev. Alex McGilvery officiating. Interment Calvary United Church Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Gideons, Calvary United Church or charity of choice would be appreciated. Harry was an Honourary Life Member of South Huron Gideons; member of Calvary Church Choir for over 70 years; former Sunday School Superintendent and Cemetery Secretary-Treasurer; leader of the Dashwood Band, later the Dashwood-Seaforth Band; was an accomplished soloist who was chosen to sing as a Member of the Commonwealth Choir at the Coronation of the late King George VI in Westminster Abbey in 1937;was recipient of 4 Gold Medals as a Baritone Soloist; member of Huronia Male Chorus and Harmony Kings; Manager of the Dashwood and Grand Bend Telephone System for over 20 years; Licenced Funeral Director since 1934; founder of Hoffman Funeral Home and Owner-Operator of Hoffman Ambulance Service 1939 to 2000.
