BECK: Suddenly, at the conclusion of evening Mass at his Parish, on Saturday, May 17, 2003, The Rev. Father Paul J. Beck of Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend, in his 77th year. Dear brother of Carla M. Beck, Louise Nuy and her husband Harry, Monica Scholten and her husband Jos, and sister-in-law Adriana all of the Netherlands, Peter Beck of New Zealand, Markoen “Mark” Beck of Las Vegas, Nevada. Also remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John Paul and Franciska (Eckmann) Beck and brother Robert Beck. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Tuesday 2 to 9 p.m. Thence to Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend to lay in state for visitation Wednesday 2 to 9 p.m. Prayers will be offered in the Church on Wednesday with Catholic Women’s League prayers at 3 p.m., Parish prayers at 7:30 p.m., and Order of Alhambra prayers at 9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend, on Thursday, May 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. by His Excellency, Most Reverend Ronald Peter Fabbro C.S.B., D.D., Bishop of London. Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. Father’s last words spoken to his parishioners where “Stay together and keep your faith. Amen.” Father Beck was born in Laren, the Netherlands, served with the Brothers of St. Louis 1944 - 1974 and was known as Brother Arthur, ordained a Priest of the London Diocese on December 4, 1976 and served the Parishes of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Stratford 1976 - 1981, Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Sarnia 1981 - 1982, Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, Windsor 1982 - 1987 and Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, Grand Bend 1987 to date.
