WALKER: Suddenly, at his residence, on Tuesday, June 3, 2003, Philip Frederick Walker of R. R. #1, Varna, formerly of Oakwood Park, Grand Bend, in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Roberta Ann (Popelik) Walker. Loved father of Maureena C. Walker and her husband David Messenger of Helena, Montana, Fiona E. Walker and friend David Critchlow of Ottawa and Brendan F. Walker at home. Loving grandpa of William Frederick Messenger. Predeceased by infant son Liam F. Walker (1971), parents Fred C. (1979) and Frances L. (Redmond) (1982) Walker. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Parish prayers at the Funeral Home Friday at 7 p.m. and the Order of Alhambra, Algarva Caravan No. 168 prayers at 8:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend, on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father Francis Thekkumkattil C.S.T. celebrant. Interment Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. C. M. Walker, Philip’s grandfather, established Oakwood Inn and Oakwood Park in 1922. Three generations of Walkers owned and operated Oakwood Inn for 53 years, selling in 1975. Philip was also a Charter Member of the Grand Bend Chapter of the Order of Alhambra.
