EVELAND: Peacefully, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Tuesday, May 8, 2007, Norman Hartman Eveland, of Crediton, age 81. Beloved husband of the late Ruth (Dewan) Eveland (1987). Loved father of Larry and Joyce Eveland of Grand Bend, Ruth Ann and Jeff Gosleigh of London, Linda and Tom Clement of Ortonville, Michigan, Cindi and Steve Hunt of Stratford, Scott and Karen Eveland of Exeter, Penny Gollen of Winnipeg and predeceased infant son David Eveland. Special grandpa to Janelle Gollen, John DeBoeck, both of Stratford and poppy to 24 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Special friend of Dave and Anne Cottel of Crediton. Dear brother of Frances Gibson of Exeter and Arnetta Baker of Hensall. Remembered by his nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his brothers William “Bill” Eveland, Leo “Fat” Eveland, sister Ella Schmidt, parents William and Fredericka (Fischer) Eveland. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Wednesday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.; where the funeral service will be held Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father Ray Lawhead officiating. Royal Canadian Legion, R. E. Pooley Branch No. 167 Exeter, will hold a service at the funeral home Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. in remembrance of Norm’s service in WWII and the Korean War. Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel. If desired, memorial donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
