Obituary of Leeland Cecil DesJardine

DESJARDINE: It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing, at Exeter Villa Nursing Home, surrounded by the love of his family, Tuesday, November 6, 2007, Leeland Cecil DesJardine formerly of Grand Bend, age 92. Devoted and loving husband of 56 years to Ilene Bernice (Hodgins) DesJardine. Cherished father to Glenda and Paul Waddell, Wendy Lee and Mark Barber, Cynthia and Steve Zaranik and Douglas DesJardine. Adored papa to Zackary Waddell, Matthew, Cassie and Spencer Barber, Brodie and Kendall Truemner, Rob and Michelle DesJardine. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ollie and Lois DesJardine of Guelph, Emerson and Helen DesJardine of Grand Bend, Donna and Gordon Price of Exeter, Phyllis DesJardine of Grand Bend, Dot Hendron of Grand Bend, Harold Hodgins of Denfield. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his brothers Melvin, Everett, Eldred, Glen, sister Rugee Restemeyer, sisters-in-law Ethel DesJardine, Mary DesJardine, Ardella DesJardine, Esther Hodgins, Merna O’Neil, brothers-in-law Hubert Restemeyer, Joe O’Neil, parents Leo and Amelia (DesJardine) DesJardine. Leeland resided in Grand Bend for most of his life. Recently he received wonderful care at the Exeter Villa. Thank you to his caregivers and Dr. Lam. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood with visitation Thursday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.; where the funeral service will be held Friday, November 9, 2007 at 1 p.m. Pastor Doug Watson officiating. Interment Grand Bend Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Church of God, Grand Bend would be appreciated.
