Obituary of Thomas Henry Hayter
HAYTER: Peacefully at home, his birthplace, with his family, on Sunday, June 6, 2004, Thomas Henry “Harry” Hayter of Dashwood, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of Frieda Susanna (Rader) Hayter for 52 years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Joanne and Paul Maguire, Janice and Brad Oke all of Grand Bend, Tom and Elaine Hayter of Dashwood and the late B. Jayne Hayter (2002). Cherished grandpa of Dave and Jennifer Maguire, Tom Maguire, Sean Maguire, Chris, Jeff and Andy Oke, Justin, Adam and Lindsay Jayne Hayter. Loving great-grandpa of Abby and Emma Maguire. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Dorothy and Earl Vandahl of Grand Bend, Robert and Gloria Hayter of Dashwood, June Hayter of Goderich and Joseph Bruce of Exeter Villa. Loved by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Bertha (Willert) Hayter, brother James Hayter Sr., sisters Theada Bruce, Reta Snyder, and Grace Beavis, brothers-in-law John Snyder, James Beavis, Albert Rader and Milford Merner, sisters-in-law Martha Merner and Marion Rader . Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood, Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at 11 a m. The Rev. John E. Trembulak III officiating. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Zion Lutheran Church or charity of choice would be appreciated. Harry was the founder of Hayter’s Turkey Farms and was committed to his community by serving on South Huron Hospital Board, Huron County Board of Education, Dashwood Medical Centre Board, Dashwood Men’s Club, Grand Bend Probus Club and as a member of Zion Lutheran Church held many positions including Elder and Chairman. Always for the betterment of agriculture, Harry devoted his time as a member of Ontario Federation of Agriculture, Huron County Cattlemen’s Association and Ontario Turkey Producer’s Marketing Board.
