Obituary of Sheila Irene Graham

Graham: Suddenly, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family, at London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital, London, Tuesday, June 6, 2006 Shelley Irene (Currie) Graham, R.N., of Grand Coves Estates, Grand Bend formerly of Cardinal, Ont. Shelley leaves behind her beloved husband John T. Graham of over 46 years and her constant canine companion, Parker. Shelley was an extraordinary woman with strong convictions. Her appreciation and participation in the arts was a special gift she passed to her son Currie and daughter Laura. She loved to move across the dance floor all night long in the arms of her adoring husband John. Shelley collected and refinished antiques and she restored 2 century homes to perfection. She loved to exercise and especially enjoyed her long walks on the beach at Grand Bend. She was an avid reader, a great cook and loved spending time with her family who will always remember her larger than life infectious laugh. Shelley leaves 2 children, Laura Roberts (Derek) of Burlington, Ont. and Currie Graham (Larissa) of Los Angeles, CA. She is also lovingly remembered as "Big Shell" by Trevor and Christopher Roberts. Fondly remembered by cousins Archie (Helen) Currie of Sauble Beach, Ont. and Diana (Ron) Uloth of Kemptville, Ont. She also leaves Jessie Koepke (Wayne) of Wasaga Beach, Stan Graham (Sherry) of Elmira, Dorothy Leppington (Harry) of Oakville, Doreen Gress (Doug) of Walkerton and Bill Graham (Anne) of Union, Ont. Shelley was the only child of and predeceased by her parents George and Gladys (Elliott) Currie. A celebration of Shelley’s life will be held at the Caddyshack in Grand Cove Estates, Grand Bend, Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. In accordance with Shelley’s wishes, a private family service will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, Friday, June 23, 2006. The Rev. Cordell Parsons officiating. Interment Avonbank Cemetery, Perth South. The family is very grateful to the staff of the South Huron Hospital, Exeter, for their special care, to the kind and compassionate Dr. Holiday, Dr. Ott, Dr Schreier and the wonderful caring nurses of both the Surgical and Palliative care units of Victoria Hospital. In lieu of flowers and in honour of Shelley's great concern for the environment and all creatures big and small, donations to the Ontario Wildlife Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
