I worked with Ian back in the 70's in Windsor at the Tecumseh & Lincoln branch where he was Manager. Early on, whenever I summoned the courage to venture into his lair (office) I always started off any conversation with "Um..." After two or three instances, whenever I asked him a question he would start off his reply with "Um..." In no time at all I was cured of using the "Um" word and ever since I no longer start off conversations with it. Thank you Ian, it was a pleasure knowing you. RIP.
