Obituary of Mary Clare Dietrich

DIETRICH:  Peacefully, with family by her side, on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Mount Hope LTC, London, Mary Clare (Glavin) Dietrich, formerly of Mount Carmel, just 10 days after her 99th Birthday.  Beloved wife of the late Charles “Charlie” Peter Dietrich (1984).  Loved mother and mother-in-law of Rosemary and Dave McCallum of Wetaskiwin, AB, Larry and April Dietrich of Winchester, Eleanor Eckert of Guelph, JoAnne and Richard Muegge of LaSalle, Michael Dietrich of Dutton, Madeline Dietrich of Ottawa, late Mary Catherine Dietrich (1953), Theresa Dietrich of London, Liz Dietrich of Mount Carmel, Joe and Georgina Dietrich of Ilderton, Chas Dietrich of Ottawa and David and Mey Chea Dietrich of Gatineau, QC.   Cherished grandma of 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  Dear sister-in-law of Hazel Glavin of Mount Carmel and Marcella Glavin of Strathroy.  Predeceased by her parents Charles and Mary (Sullivan) Glavin, granddaughter Alice Dietrich-O’Connor, grandson John Muegge, great-grandson Jaxon Breynaert, son-in-law Peter Eckert, siblings Joe and Martina Glavin, John and Teresa Glavin, Fr. Basil Glavin, Madeline Glavin, Pat Glavin, Ray Glavin, Helen and Hanlon McDonald and in-laws Bill and Ann Dietrich, Jerome and Ruth Dietrich, Clare and Dennis O’Rourke, Sidone and Gordon McKeever, Leonard and Dorothy Dietrich, Merle and Claude Gelinas, Earl and Yvonne Dietrich.  Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood with Visitation for Family and Friends on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. (masks and social distancing applies).  The Private Family Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Mount Carmel on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.  The Rev. Fr. Vince Guilikers Celebrant.  Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery.  Mary’s life focus was her faith and her family.  She was known for her love of lively fiddle music, reading and her devotion to St. Theresa.  She will be fondly remembered for her annual propagation of geraniums, enjoying her riding lawnmower and greeting newcomers at church.  It was her faith and family that took her on travels to Columbia, Venezuela, Zimbabwe and France.  She was a lifelong member of the Mount Carmel C.W.L.  The Family wishes to express our sincere thank you to all of the staff on the 4th Floor, St. Mary’s Building at Mount Hope for all their kindness and caring to our mom.  Donations in her honour, if you wish (payable directly) to the Precious Blood Sisters of London, Ontario, the Carmelite Sisters of St. Agatha, Ontario and the South Huron Food Bank.
