As a young woman, Patricia was an accomplished artist and played piano. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Home Economics. Following a brief career as a dietician and RCAF officer, and marrying Ben, Patricia threw her whole heart into raising her four children. Patricia was well known for supplying the neighbourhood kids with popsicles and cookies, sewing clothing for herself and children, and letting the kids lick the beaters from whipped cream or chocolate cake. Patricia pinched thousands of perogies and made sure that the Polish/Ukrainian traditions of her youth were passed on. She made sure that her family was healthy and modelled an active lifestyle as a lifelong fitness devotee, swimmer, and walker. She was an active volunteer for her parish and children’s schools. Patricia was an avid reader and loved to play bridge with friends. Patricia valued her education, and ensured that her children and grandchildren had the encouragement and support needed to achieve at the highest levels. She always urged everyone to do their best, and then do better. We will miss her profoundly.
At Patricia’s request, cremation has taken place. A Private Memorial Mass for immediate family will be celebrated at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Interment at the Pinery Cemetery, Grand Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable directly) to a local hospice or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood.
