Obituary of Angela Marguerite Kuntz

KUNTZ:  Angela (Schwehr) Kuntz of Grand Bend, peacefully, in her Beach O’Pines dream home, with her Loving family at her side, on July 24th, 2022, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer for 17 months. She was born in Carrick twp, (Mildmay) Bruce County.

She is survived by Linus, her loving husband of nearly 58 years, daughters Karen (Kurt) Davidson of Amherstburg, Arlene (Rob) Bryson of Dashwood, and son Kevin (Chere Davidson) of Guelph.  Proud Grandma to Trevor Bryson, Brett Bryson, Tyler Davidson and Brendan Davidson.

Dearly missed by her brother Gerald (Mary Anne) Schwehr and sister Margarita Lipskie of Mildmay, In-laws Harvey (Dianne) Kuntz of Wingham, Dorothy (Lloyd deceased 2008) Kuntz of Waterloo, Norbert (Patricia) Kuntz of Port Elgin, Joseph Kuntz (Elaine deceased 2012) of Mildmay, Ruth (Ronald) Gordon of Kincardine, Helen (Donald) Meyer of Walkerton, James (Marlene) Kuntz of Sequin, Carol (Hal) Dietrich of Kitchener and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Predeceased by her parents Joseph & Margaret (Schumacher) Schwehr and In-laws Jerome & Vera (Goll) Kuntz.

Angela attended Sacred Heart High School, Walkerton.

After high school, she was employed by Dr. Bill & Sheila Lobsinger, Walkerton. Subsequently moved to Kitchener working at Weston Bakeries for several years.

Following marriage she moved to Niagara Falls, as Linus’ banking career required frequent relocations including Aurora, Fort Erie, St. Catharines, Kitchener, Woodstock, Chatham, Grand Bend, back to Kitchener and then retired  to their permanent home in Grand Bend.

After being a stay at home mom she returned to work in Chatham in retail ladies fashions and footwear stores.

 

Following the move to Grand Bend was employed with seasonal ladies wear, maintaining spring/summer employment while residing in apartment in Kitchener during winter. Retired after birth of her first grandchild.

Angela had been active in numerous community and charitable organizations including fundraising for Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke, and Community Living, former member of Beta Sigma Phi Woodstock and Chatham and Social & Recreation committee in Southcott Pines Park Association. Active curler for 25 years, including Chatham Granite, Exeter, Guelph, Kitchener Granite and Forest clubs.

Angela was Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Grand Bend (30 years), active member CWL for over 30 years. She was founding member Ladies Probus Club of Grand Bend. Volunteer, past director & Life member in Grand Bend & Area Horticultural Society, Life member Southcott Pines Park Association (volunteer recognition) and member  Beach 0’Pines Association. She was an avid gardener and recipient of numerous garden awards. 

Travels took her coast to coast in Canada, Nassau Bahamas, Cuba, Alaska, California, Europe, northern United States and had been a snowbird in Florida for numerous years.

Her greatest enjoyment was being with family, the outdoors, walking, and gardening.

Special Thanks to the Doctors at London Health Science Centre CLIPS program, Dr. Glen Maddison, Medical Director, St Joseph’s Hospice and his associates, the Nurses with Bayshore Healthcare and PSW’s with VON Erie St. Clair District Home care for the compassionate Care and empathy they exhibited while Angela was under their Care.  To the Grand Bend Community, family and friends for their prayers, soups, flowers and well wishes during Angela’s fight to survive.

Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with Visitation on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, from 2 to 4 p.m. with CWL Prayers at 3:45 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. with Parish and Family Prayers at 7 p.m.

A Celebration of Angela’s life and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Grand Bend, on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. John Comiskey Celebrant. 

Internment in Pinery Cemetery, Klondyke Road, Grand Bend

In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations can be made in Angela’s name (payable directly) to London Health Science Foundation CLIPS, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Crohn’s and Colitis Canada would be appreciated by the family.
