Obituary of Anita Riddell

RIDDELL:  Peacefully, at Exeter Villa Nursing Home, Exeter, on September 16, 2023 Anita (Morta) Riddell, of Exeter, age 83.  Beloved wife of John “Jack” Keith Riddell of Exeter.  Loved by Jack’s children Deborah and Hiram Thompson of Lucan, Wayne and Deborah Riddell of Grand Bend, Donna and Dan Overholt of Exeter, Heather Riddell of Exeter, Brenda Riddell of Seaforth; grandchildren Scott and Stephanie, Terri and Scott, Jason and Sarah, Jaclene and Jeff, Craig and Amanda, Kevin and Amber, Amber and Jon, Kendra and Steve, Lea and Marty, Shayne and Janelle, Cody; great-grandchildren Charlie, Rylie, Ryan, Logan, Wrenley, Romi, Paxton, Lacie, Kensi, Brantley, Brynnlee, Jack, Mason, Wyatt, Nathan, Hayley, Dax, Ada, Dutton, the late Hudson (2016), Sawyer and Axel.  Dear sister and sister-in-law of Elizabeth Boezak of South Africa, Sylvia Flotman of New Zealand, Joan Morta, Rosie Morta, Vincent Morta all of South Africa.  Remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families.  Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Annie (Fourie) Morta, sister Marguerite and Desmond Firth, brothers Peter Morta and Maxwell Morta, brothers-in-law Alwin Boezak, Leonard Flotman, Douglas and Betty Riddell, sisters-in-law Beth and Jerry King and Jean Riddell.  At Anita’s request, cremation has taken place.  A Memorial Service will be held at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 1:30 PM, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Pastor Paul Vollick Officiant.  Private family Interment St. Marys Cemetery at a later date.  If desired, memorial donations (payable directly) to the South Huron Hospital, Exeter; Exeter Villa Nursing Home, Exeter or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.  Jack and his family are very appreciative and thankful to the management and staff of the Exeter Villa for their kind and compassionate care of Anita during her residence there. Our thanks also go to Dr Jerome Jadd for his care of Anita over the last many years.
