Laszlo Takacs Obituary

In memory of Les Takacs, of RR1 Centralia, who sadly passed away, at the age of 87, on Saturday, August 10, 2024. Survived by his wife, Eva Lidia, of 59 years, his son and daughter, and grandchildren.

As a young man, Les fled his home in Hungary in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution when there was much unrest in the country. He made his way to Canada and settled in Southwestern Ontario. Les and his family moved to their current property in Usborne Township in 1976. Les worked for GM Diesel until he retired and enjoyed running a small hobby farm in his spare time for many decades.

As a student of the Bible, Les took comfort in the Scriptures. One such scripture is at Revelation 21:4 which reads, “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at South Huron Hospital for their kindness and support.

At Les’ request cremation has taken place. A private ceremony for the family to follow.
